Hello World!

Pondering many things these days. I'm currently obsessed with the intersections of Sherlock in many venues, Doctor Who, books, I love, and the astronomy in them. Oh, and Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm also preparing for an online class with my husband and my poet friend on Astronomy and Literature, called Messages in the Stars through CosmoQuest.
http://cosmoquest.org/x/cosmoacademy/2014/08/15/messages-in-the-stars/

I'd love to see you in the class! It's limited to 8 students so it will be a great discussion based class. We promise to talk about BBC Sherlock, Tolkien such as the Silmarillion, Dr. Who, Homer, Maya Angelou, Robert Frost, proto- Indo-European languages, and many more.

We hope to run it as an in person class at some point locally too. :) and definitely as panels at Phoenix Comicon.

At the Movies Everyday

I've been thinking lately about movie quotes that I use in everyday conversation. Here's some of mine:

1. "[He/She/I] chose poorly" - Grail Knight in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - I use it particularly at the grocery store when I get in the wrong line.

2. "Have fun storming the castle!" - Princess Bride - often used when leaving a group who are going off to do something else

What are yours? (or even book, music, or TV show quotes)
